AO 40 SSTV

A recent interest in ham radio has turned to working the AO-40 satellite.  The most difficult problems to getting on the air were in working with the neighbors to find the best place for the 20' tower that supports the 6' dish and the two 10' antennas.

Further information on AO-40 can be found on the AMSAT FAQ

The downlink frequency of AO-40 currently is on the 2.401 GHz.  By using a AIDC 3731 Block Downconverter modified by Bob Seydler, K5GNA, the signal is converted to 145.350 MHz. for use with any all-mode VHF receiver.

My installation use a 1.8 meter dish with a circular patch feed.
