During the last weekend of June 2003, I joined other ham radio operators in Field Day 2003 at the site of the West Valley Amateur Radio Association on top of Loma Prieta south of San Jose.Field Day is an international exercise in preparation for emergency communications for ham radio operators. Stations have 24 hours to prepare stations to operate on emergency power and make as many contacts as possible in the following 24 hours.
