The second generation computer from North Star was the Advantage introduced in 1981. Based on the Zilog Z-80 4Mhz processor, this beauty had 64 kBytes RAM and originally came with two 360 kByte floppy disks and cost $3,995.00. The second floppy was ultimately replaced by a $600 add-on 5 megabyte winchester hard disk drive. Hard disks were ultimately offered in a 30 megabyte size.The North Star Advantage ran both North Star DOS and BASIC as well as CP/M applications. |
